Graduation 2016

free glitter text and family website at FamilyLobby.comEmbarrassment covered my face as my prep photo popped up. My face flushed red like a tomato, then I remembered all the good memories I had. All the good times throughout the year it felt like going through the same thing over again. I turn back looking at my parents smiling, feeling proud of myself.

Finally reaching to my year 6 photo, I hear Jorja whispering beside me “You’ve changed a lot”. I smile at her.

This is a day to remember!

Tall Towers

free glitter text and family website at FamilyLobby.comHey guys, I can now finally tell you about my lesson! My lesson was about a tall tower in Dubai called Burj Khalifa. I taught my class a few facts then went straight onto a hand onactivity, they had to make the tallest tower they can make in 10 minutes with an amount of ice-cream sticks they get. They had so much fun making it and working with each in pairs, I enjoyed entertaining them and making sure they enjoyed it.

The plus thing about the lesson was even though it was loud they still were on task and working and they listened to me so they know what they are doing.

The minus was they were a bit distracted here and there and tried to distract other teams but then all of them were really good.

The interesting thing was they made the tallest tower they can in 10 minutes using ice-cream sticks and taping it with sticky tape/masking tape.

Other than that I enjoyed teaching them and making sure they enjoyed the lesson!

Here are phots of the lesson

Australia vs United States

Hey guys welcome back to my blog! Right now you are about to see the difference between the country Australia and United States. My post is all about the difference between the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and also the difference between the populations, life expectancy, the major import and exports and more. The one fact that stood out the most for me is how United States have more mobile phones than Australia because some people have two phones and their country is larger than Australia due to the population and thats also why they have more mobile phones. Make sure to comment down what you have learnt about the difference between Australia and United States. Incase you guys didn’t know I used the app easil.ly to make my infographic, I recommend this app to you guys to use so whenever you have a project to do you can use this app.

My Passion Project

Hey Visitors, today I am going to be talking about My Passion Project. Everyone in year 6 have to chose something we were passionate about, but also did not know much about it, so we researched that particular topic. The topic I chose was about the tallest skyscraper in Dubai called Burj Khalifa.

These are the things that I have learnt so far:

-The building in Dubai is called Burj Khalifa because it resembles a flower with three petals.

Like a great crystal sword thrust up through the Earth, Burj Khalifa seems like something from a fantasy world. Starting from the base the tower spirals inward culminating in a thin spire, a design with roots in Islamic arts.

The elongated nature of the three wings also follows for more light to penetrate interior areas, making the interior more comfortable.

The story behind it was in the olden days in the 1800 Dubai had a terrible labor condition and it is now still circulating for years. The Burj was built by workers from poor regions of Asia, including countries like Philippines, Indonesia, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

Disasters Downunder Showcase!

This term, the year 6’s worked on finding out about Natural Disasters such as Bushfires, Cyclones, Floods, Volcanoes, Tsunamis and Earthquakes. We had a showcase to show the parents, my disaster was Bushfire. This is a short snapshot about the day after the showcase, it tells you how I felt when I was I was explaining to someone where the Bushfires happened on a ipad. I also made a map and used the app quiver where my paper drawing came to life.

The day after the showcase
I held the iPad nice and steady as I set it above a coloured in map, it shows where Bushfires happen. I look up and I see the year 5’s and their buddies surrounding me, giving me the pressure to start feeling overwhelmed. I feel the warm heat around me as my arms start to ache. My heart started to beat faster than a cheetah running. Could this day get any worse?

Fractions

Today I learnt how to add fractions and how to fold them to make it turn into the fractions I want. I even learnt how to add an equivalent fraction together.

I rate my effort a 4/5 because I tried my best to figure it out and I also tried my best to make sure the answers are accurate.

Next time I could improve on making sure I have a positive mindset and don’t give up while trying to get the answer. I should try learning from my mistakes.
